As I was working on concept for the lost city, I came up with the idea instead of the statue(s) being an enemy maybe being the hero of the game instead. So the enemy would be the jungle and its habitants itself overtaking the lost city and its up to the statue above to save it from being overrun. So obviously plants on there own isn't enough so I thought about large insects also being enemies. For the colour scheme the statue and city would still have the blue but the plants and insects would have orange instead. The orange would let the gamer know weak points on the insects and the dangerous points on the plants.
also been looking at Mayans and their language and culture, the words next to the statue actually say something and are there to look pretty. :)

So going off Phils helpful feedback, Instead off looking at real life plants for influences I have done some of my own plant designs from imagination adding the style I'm going for. I have been looking at alien designs to help, which hopefully in the man eating plant designs there is a sense of "alien-ness" to them.

So after looking at the game Limbo, I did some quick paintings of my Lost city Idea but done in the Limbo style. But wanting it to have more to it I looked at Tron and alien design to help influence the environment and prop designs.
For style and influence for my lost city I have been looking at the game Limbo, the game has a nice simple style to it so I started to look at adding another colour to the mixture. deciding to go with a light blue to go with it to help show enchantment of the lost city. images of this to follow.
